(plus bonus photo of Zoey gathering all of her toys into a pile so she can sit on them and not share them with humans).

We found something Zoey hates.

She hates showers, brushes, and the blowdryer.

Waking up with Zoey

This is where I found Sidney the morning after we picked Zoey up.  She was having a hard time in the kennel, so Sid spent the night with her.

And one with Britnie.

Zoey Danger Johnsen

The newest member of our family came home last night.  Zoey is a half Yorkie/ half Shitzu.  We’re convincing her she’ll be ok not sitting on the furniture, and Sidney slept next to her kennel in the kitchen last night.  So far so good.

Wyatt’s Quilt

I meant to post this back during Christmas but forgot.  Britnie made this for Wyatt and it’s the best ever.  Really warm and I love how it looks.  He hated it, we had to force it onto his bed for some reason.   He kept complaining that it didn’t have Indiana Jones on it.  I think he’s got into it a little more now.

After painting half of our bedroom a light blue, Britnie chose chocolate brown for the other hald and invited the kids in to help.

Christmas

Home made vanilla extract

Home Made Vanilla Extract.

8 vanilla beans per one cup of vodka.

Scrape the bean insides into the vodka, then throw the beans in with it.  Shake it once a day for a week, then once a week for 3 months (or sic if you have the time).

And now, onto Christmas.

We start the holiday with Britnie’s parents on Christmas eve.  Everyone gets pajamas then we open the rest of the presents.  The kids get snuggies and Wyatt gets tree ornaments that will be used as toys until they break.

Then we head home to get in bed after the kids put out cookies for Santa and sprinkle reindeer food on the driveway.  After telling the kids they can’t wake us up until 6:00 a.m. they head off to bed, Wyatt singing made-up Christmas songs at the top of his lungs.  He’s been hoping for Harry Potter Lego sets for three months now and he can’t contain himself.  Sidney sets her alarm for 6, but doesn’t bother adjusting the time after her clock was unplugged a couple of days ago.  She wakes up at 3 a.m. and goes to get Wyatt up so they can burst into our bedroom.

I send everyone back to bed and tell her she can wake up when her clock says 10 a.m.  Then I lay staring at the ceiling because I’m so excited to watch them open presents that I can’t get back to sleep.  I go down to the basement and Facebook/play games for the next four hours until Wyatt finally wakes up a little after 7 a.m.  He’s really out of control now and I finally give in so we go shake Sidney awake.  She’s crabby and I finally have to drag her out of bed.  The kids open their presents and are happy.  I jump in to play Lego with Wyatt and Britnie’s parents come over for breakfast.  I keep nodding off during the day while watching the kids play while I read books on my Kindle.  I go to sleep early and stay in bed until 7:30 in the morning for the first time in many years.

We head off to my parent’s house the day after Christmas for more food and presents.  Sidney gets more books which is exactly what she wants.  We finally head home exhausted and happy.  I hope all of you had as good of a Christmas as we did.  Happy Holidays everyone.
